CMSF Goes Interactive

The California Mid-State Fair is going “text crazy” with an interactive text-to-answer polling feature at all Budweiser Concert Series’ shows taking place in the Chumash Arena. The text-to-answer promotion will provide pre-show entertainment by giving concertgoers the opportunity to answer questions projected on the CMSF’s big screens.

Starting at 6:30pm, the big screens will prompt questions centered on the featured artists, from “What is your favorite KISS song?” to “Where is Tim McGraw’s hometown?”

The text-to-answer promotion is sponsored by the Official Cell Phone Provider of the California Mid-State Fair, local communications company Phone & Wireless.

“We love the idea of bringing modern technology to a traditional community event,” Phone & Wireless GM Brendan Reitsma commented. “Our company has been in the central coast since 1947, so we know that evolving with the times is how you remain successful year after year.”

The first of the text-to-answer promotions will be offered at the Carrie Underwood concert on Wednesday, July 22. Texted answers will instantly be received by eNowIt’s voting and polling text service, followed by the posting of the correct answers and final results on the CMSF’s big screens. Participants will also enjoy some unexpected surprises along the way.

This year’s theme is “Take A Ride On The Wild Side”… the 2009 California Mid-State Fair runs July 22, 2009, through August 2, 2009.
